Teaching Assistant

Keevil Church of England Academy is looking for an enthusiastic and dedicated Teaching Assistant to join its vibrant team and provide support to pupils, starting November 2026. Experience in supporting children with speech, language and communication needs and / or a Forest School qualification are advantageous for the role. Working Hours: Part time (27.75 hours per week, Monday to Friday, 38 weeks per year, no Teacher Training days). We are a welcoming and caring primary school, educating children between the ages of 5 and 11 years. Situated in the picturesque village of Keevil, Wiltshire, we are proud to have strong links with our local community and St Leonard’s Church. As a Teaching Assistant , you must be able to work across all age ranges within our school and be prepared to work flexibly to support children of all abilities, including those requiring SEN support, liaising with teachers and SENCO. The successful candidate will also be expected to support with school lunchtime provision, supervising children in the dining area and/or during inside/outside play and will also be comfortable assisting children during our outdoor forest school sessions.

We are looking for someone who:

Has a passion for delivering high quality and exciting opportunities for children; Has strong interpersonal and communication skills and is able to work with a variety of pupils, staff and parents; Has superb attention to detail and organisational skills; Is self-motivated dedicated and consistent; Has the ability to deal with new challenging situations; Is a strong team player, who can use their own initiative; Has a positive and flexible attitude; Has experience of supporting children’s learning; Has a Speech and Language and/or Forest School qualification (advantageous); Is Paediatric First-aid trained / is willing to complete this; Enjoys working with children; Is happy to assist with school lunchtime provision and forest school duties.
