About the role

Are you passionate about supporting every child’s learning and committed to helping create an inclusive environment where all pupils can thrive? As part of our friendly and supportive team at Newlands Primary Academy, within the University of Chichester Academy Trust, you will play a key role in supporting a child with additional medical needs. You will provide personal and health care, health monitoring and basic therapy programmes determined by the appropriate external multi-agencies for the child. This will include liaising with school staff and multi- agencies as required to ensure the child’s medical conditions are met. You will be an enthusiastic and dynamic individual, preferably with experience of working within the Early Years Foundation stage, Key Stage 1 and/or a Primary School environment. At Newlands Primary Academy, we recognise that our children’s success is built on the dedication and expertise of our staff. We are committed to offering meaningful professional development, and this role includes a structured induction and training programme to enable you to support the needs of the child who you will be supporting.

The ideal candidate will:

Be enthusiastic, dynamic, and preferably experienced in working with children with medical conditions. Demonstrate the ability to form positive, supportive relationships with individuals or groups across a range of settings to help pupils make progress. Have a flexible, reliable, and proactive approach to supporting learning. Be committed to developing effective partnerships with children, parents, staff and external professionals, promoting excellent learning and high standards. The University of Chichester Academy Trust You will be part of The University of Chichester Academy Trust, which is uniquely positioned to make a difference in the local educational landscape. The Trust currently encompasses 17 academies, 2 Inclusion centres, and a School-Centred Initial Teacher Training base, all based in Hampshire, Portsmouth, and West Sussex. While we share a common vision and values, each academy has its own identity that contributes to its local community. The Trust is committed to valuing the uniqueness of each school. Two-Week October Half Term We have introduced a two-week October half-term across all our schools. This initiative is already making a positive impact, giving staff and pupils a valuable break during the long autumn term, reducing absence through illness, and supporting overall well-being. It also brings greater consistency across our Trust, creating a more connected and efficient way of working. It’s just one example of how we prioritise our people and create a working environment where everyone can thrive. Diversity and Inclusion At the University of Chichester Academy Trust, we believe that diversity drives creativity, innovation, and excellence. We are committed to providing equality of opportunity, fostering an inclusive culture, and creating a community where everyone feels they belong. We particularly welcome applications from individuals who are underrepresented within our workforce, including those from Black, Asian, and minority ethnic backgrounds, disabled individuals, LGBTQI+ individuals, and women—especially for senior leadership roles.
