Working Pattern: 38 weeks term time only Start Date: 1st December 2026 Salary: Medway D2 4 - 11 £22,047.56 - £25,024.19 Actual Salary About the Role Are you an organised, friendly and pro-active administrator who enjoys working in a busy environment where no two days are the same? Barnsole Primary School is looking for an enthusiastic Administration Assistant to join our team. This is a fantastic opportunity to become one of the friendly faces and voices of our school, supporting pupils, families, visitors and colleagues while also helping to keep our school office running smoothly. You will play an important role at the heart of Barnsole, providing high-quality administrative support and helping ensure that families and visitors receive a warm and professional welcome from the moment they contact us. Whether you already have experience working in a school office or you are looking to bring your administration and customer service skills into education, we would love to hear from you. In this role, you will: Welcome visitors, parents and contractors and support reception and visitor procedures

Respond to telephone and email enquiries as a professional first point of contact

Support pupil administration, attendance and admission processes

Maintain accurate records using the school's Management Information System (MIS)

Provide administrative support for school events, trips, clubs and activities

Assist with correspondence, record keeping and general office administration

Work collaboratively with colleagues to support the smooth running of the school

This is a varied role where your organisation, attention to detail and positive approach will make a difference to our school community every day.

Who You Are We're looking for someone who:

Has excellent organisational and administrative skills

Enjoys providing great customer service and helping others

Communicates confidently and professionally with children, families, colleagues and visitors

Can manage competing priorities in a busy office environment

Has strong IT skills and is comfortable learning new systems

Is accurate, organised and pays close attention to detail

Can use their initiative while working effectively as part of a team

Shares our commitment to safeguarding, inclusion and providing a positive experience for every child and family

Previous experience in a school office and knowledge of school MIS systems would be an advantage, but training will be available for the right candidate.
