As Assistant Headteacher at The Peak and a senior leader within the Trust, you will be a team player contributing to the growth and development of our pupils. As a member of The Peak Academy Leadership Team, you will collaborate to lead the school to reflect its unique community of pupils, families and staff. This will be consistent with the values of the Trust. You will lead to inspire learning for children with a diagnosis of social, emotional and mental health (SEMH) needs. Your work will be challenging and rewarding. You will lead within our strong safeguarding culture, wherein pupils are listened to, respected, and involved in many decisions as possible. About the successful candidate We are seeking an exceptional visionary Assistant Headteacher to support the Head of School and Leadership team a new era of excellence, driving growth and diversification while empowering our SEMH pupil population to thrive and achieve aspirational outcomes. The Assistant Headteacher will be responsible to oversee aspects of the curriculum and developing teaching. This is a pivotal role at the heart of our school’s vision for an inclusive, ambitious, and nurturing learning environment. You will be the driving force for positive change - working closely with staff, families and external agencies to ensure every pupil receives the support and opportunities they deserve. Has exceptional leadership qualities, including the ability to inspire, motivate, and empower others and who leads by example. Has strong communication and interpersonal skills, as well as the ability to build and maintain strong relationships with stakeholders. Considers the mental health and wellbeing of all staff Has passion for equity and social justice with a commitment to creating a thriving school community that empowers vulnerable young people with SEMH to thrive. About the School

The Peak Academy is a day specialist provider of education in Dursley, Gloucestershire for children and young people aged from 11 to 16 years who have an SEMH profile. There are currently 67 pupils on roll but Reach South plans, in partnership with the LA to diversify both number and age range. PEAK formally joined Reach South in August 2022. The Trust has secured capital to ensure the capacity for growth and diversification. PEAK’s aim is to build safe independent lives for the SEMH population through a process of understanding, support, and enablement. To achieve this goal the school looks at the unique impact social, emotional, and mental health experiences has on the individual child. From this we aim as a school to personalise the child’s curriculum, care, and therapeutic package to ensure every child achieves and experiences success and independence.
