About the role

We are looking to appoint an experienced Data Manager to join the team at Holbrook Academy for 20 hours per week, 39 weeks per annum. The hours can be structured flexibly across the week. The successful candidate will be responsible for the management of the Academy’s data requirements by collecting, processing, presenting and analysing education data, including parent reporting and management of assessment data using the school’s MIS (SIMS). The post holder will also work with schools within the Trust to develop data collection systems in SIMS and other MIS systems and set up reports as well as manipulating and importing data from other software. The ability to independently find solutions to problems and strong ICT skills, particularly in Microsoft Excel, are essential to the role. Experience of using a MIS system would be beneficial. Duties will include:- Overseeing the school's main data systems including the school’s MIS (currently SIMS), assessment tracking systems, and reporting dashboards Ensuring valid, accurate, and complete data is entered into these systems in a timely manner Performing daily, weekly, and monthly checks on the data integrity Developing and documenting data policies, procedures, standards, and data dictionary Producing detailed data reports and analysis for school leaders, teachers, parents/carers Providing support to school staff on using school data systems Ensuring school data practices comply with all relevant regulations and policies around data protection, privacy, retention, etc Submission of timely census returns and required data files to the DfE, local authority and other external bodies The successful candidate will have:- Have GCSE English and Maths at Grade 5 (C) and above Evidence to ongoing professional development relevant to data management, analysis or IT Ability to translate complex data into accessible, user-friendly reports and advise leadership on data interpretation to inform decision-making Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and/or Google Sheets (e.g., VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, Pivot Tables, building customized marksheets and data dashboards Meticulous attention to detail and a high degree of accuracy under pressure Strong interpersonal and communication skills Holbrook Academy is a popular, secondary school to the south of Ipswich easily accessible from the A12 and A14.
