About the role

We are seeking a Forest School Leader to deliver a high-quality Forest School programme, where you will lead engaging sessions, that promote our pupil’s teamwork, communication and confidence. The ideal candidate will be happy to work in all weather conditions and ideally holds a Forest School Level 3 qualification, and has a genuine passion for outdoor learning. This opportunity allows you to run our Forest School from Day One of its opening. Currently in construction, we are proud to offer our own very onsite Forest School as we recognise the positive impact that learning outside can have on our pupils. Southfield School is a SEN Primary setting, and due to the demand for SEN spaces for this age group, we are finding ourselves rapidly growing with an increasing waiting list. Southfield not just cares about the children, but about the staff too, making it a great place to work. We have a bright and spacious comfortable break out area for our teachers and support staff, dedicated large PPA room, and a fully equipped functioning kitchen too. By providing a positive work environment brings out the best in our teachers. We support training, career development, and your passions. You’ll get free parking, free hot drinks, ongoing support, and a great team. Closing date: Monday 2nd November 2026 Start date: November 2026 We believe that schools 'can' and 'do' make a difference and change lives and that the most important resource in any school is its staff. The success of Southfield School is due to our dedicated, committed, experienced and enthusiastic staff. Southfield School is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. The successful applicant will have to meet the requirements of the person specification in order to be offered the post and will be subject to an enhanced DBS check. We welcome applications from all members of our community. We would welcome the opportunity to invite you to visit our School, and meet our friendly staff, as well as our amazing children. To arrange, please call the School Office on 01707 276 504 to make an appointment with our Headteacher.
