Job description

INCLUSION HUB - HLTA We are seeking to appoint a committed, confident, and flexible HLTA to join our Inclusion team. This is a key role in promoting our inclusive ethos by ensuring that all students, particularly those with barriers to learning or personalised timetables, remain engaged, supported, and able to access learning. The successful candidate will play a central role within our Inclusion Hub, supporting the planning and delivery of core subject provision for students requiring additional support. The role will involve supporting the academic progress of students on personalised timetables or alternative learning pathways. This role is ideal for an experienced HLTA who is passionate about inclusion, confident working with young people who present a range of needs, and skilled at building strong, positive relationships. Key Responsibilities Contribute to the day-to-day running of the Inclusion Hub, ensuring a calm, purposeful, and supportive learning environment. Support the planning and delivery of core subject provision, particularly in English and Maths, for small groups and individual students. Work collaboratively with the subject teachers, our Literacy Specialist, ELSA, pastoral team, and Inclusion team to meet the diverse needs of students. Provide tailored support that enables students to engage with learning and develop confidence and independence. Support students within mainstream lessons where appropriate, helping them to access the curriculum and re-engage with learning. Monitor and record student progress, contributing to personalised support strategies and reintegration plans. Build confidence, motivation, and self-regulation skills in students who face significant barriers to learning. Person Specification The successful candidate: Is passionate about inclusion and committed to supporting young people with a wide range of social, emotional, and academic needs. Has experience as an HLTA or equivalent, with strong skills in supporting English and Maths learning at either primary or secondary level. Approaches students confidently and calmly, including those who may be anxious or disengaged. Demonstrates excellent behaviour management, communication, and interpersonal skills. Is highly organised, proactive, and IT literate, particularly in using behaviour and progress-tracking systems. Shows empathy, professionalism, and resilience when working with students who have barriers to learning. Works flexibly across pastoral and learning support spaces to meet changing student needs. Collaborates effectively with teaching staff, pastoral teams, SEND colleagues, and senior leaders to maintain a consistent, inclusive approach. Shares the vision of our school to ‘realise God-given potential’. ELSA trained would be desirable. We reserve the right to interview on receipt of application and prior to the advertised deadline.
