Helix Learning Trust brings together five mainstream schools and three specialist schools serving children and young people aged 4 to 19 across the Royal Borough of Kingston upon Thames and the London Borough of Richmond upon Thames. We are a happy, positive and hardworking staff, educating learners aged 4-19 with severe or profound and multiple learning disabilities and many of whom have a co-diagnosis of Autism Spectrum Condition. We work closely with colleagues from Educational Psychology, Health and Social Care to ensure that our learners receive all the support and challenge they need to achieve. Every learner has an Education, Health and Care Plan that details what and how they are learning, including input from Speech and Language, Occupational, and Physiotherapy. The Role This is a rewarding role at the heart of our school community, supporting children and young people with severe and complex learning needs, including Autism Spectrum Condition, to develop independence, communication and confidence. Working in close partnership with teachers, therapists and families, you will lead engaging learning experiences, shape personalised pathways, and help create a nurturing, inclusive environment where every learner can thrive. You’ll help pupils thrive academically, socially, and emotionally through: Tailored support for individual or small groups of students. Providing personal care as needed to ensure students’ well-being. Collaborating with our teaching staff to implement creative and effective learning strategies. Encouraging independence and fostering a love of learning in each student.
