Job description

We are seeking to appoint a Learning Support Assistant to start as soon as possible. This is a unique and extremely exciting opportunity to be a part of a truly outstanding provision where pupils with specific needs genuinely excel. As a specialist provision we are looking for staff who are committed to meeting the complex and holistic needs of young people with C&I needs so that they can reach their full academic and personal potential at Castle EAST. The successful individual will not necessarily have experience of working in a provision for pupils with special needs; irrespective of your experience, training will be fully provided and form part of the school induction process for all staff. Castle EAST School is looking to appoint an outstanding practitioner with a passion for supporting pupils to achieve their best, both in and out of the classroom. This is a truly unique environment which provides excellent development for staff whilst working in partnership with parents, colleagues and other professionals to achieve the best possible outcomes for pupils. All of our staff work tirelessly and meticulously to promote and safeguard the welfare of children and young people within the school. For prospective applicants, it is important to understand that support staff will be supporting pupils across the three Key Stages and within a range of subjects across the curriculum. This is something that we will very openly discuss with applicant during the interview process. 35 hours per week, 39 weeks per year: Monday: 8:30am to 4:30pm Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday: 8:30am to 4:00pm Friday: 8:30am to 3:30pm Please see attached documents for the Recruitment Pack, Job Description and Person Specification. We are proud to be part of East Anglian Schools Trust (EAST) alongside Farlingaye High School, Kesgrave High School, Bungay High School, Holbrook Academy and EAST SCITT and six primary schools - Aldeburgh, Wickham Market, Easton, Kyson, Leiston and Saxmundham, with whom we work closely with. We are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children, young people and vulnerable adults and expect all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. DBS checks required for all posts. If you have any questions with regards to the vacancy or would like to a have a look round the school, please contact Ashley Elder, Head of School's PA either via email on aelder@castleeastschool.co.uk or phone 01986 808 651.
