Learning Support Assistant Job Title: Learning Support Assistant Location: Spring Meadow Primary School Hours: 8.50am to 3.20pm, Term Time Only Spring Meadow Primary School is an inclusive primary school at the heart of our community, where every child is valued and encouraged to thrive. As part of our ongoing commitment to excellence in teaching and learning, we are investing in additional support staff to support our pupils’ success. We are looking for a passionate, resilient and inclusive Learning Support Assistant to join our team. The successful candidate will have the ability to build strong, positive relationships with pupils and help to create an engaging learning environment that supports both academic progress and emotional development. The successful candidate will support children and help them to access learning and thrive in our nurturing environment. Key Responsibilities Provide in-class support for pupils, including those with SEND Deliver targeted interventions to individuals and small groups Support pupils’ academic, social and emotional development Assist with the planning and adaptation of learning activities Promote positive behaviour and engagement in learning Work collaboratively with teachers, Senior Leadership, SENCo and external professionals Help create a safe, supportive and inclusive learning environment Support pupils with personal care where required Help create a safe, structured, and positive learning environment Promote pupils’ emotional wellbeing and inclusion across the school day The Ideal Candidate We are looking for someone who: Is patient, caring and able to build positive relationships with pupils Has a good understanding of inclusive practice and strategies to support learning Is able to adapt support to meet a range of needs, including communication and behaviour Has strong teamwork and communication skills Is proactive, flexible and willing to learn Is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children Has some experience of working with children with SEND (desirable) What we offer: A welcoming, friendly and supportive staff team Opportunities for professional learning and development A strong commitment to inclusion, with experienced SEND support in place Supportive leadership team and a positive working culture A positive school environment where everyone is valued Competitive salary and benefits package Safeguarding Spring Meadow Primary School is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.
