About the role

Learning Support Assistant Fixed Term Contract until 31st August 2027

Salary: Thurrock Band A Point 1-6

(£17,572.90 - £18,810.34 per annum) 8:45am - 3:15pm with a 30-minute unpaid lunch break, Monday - Friday 30 hours per week 38 weeks of the year - term time plus inset days START DATE: 2nd November 2026 Bonnygate Primary School wishes to appoint an inspiring and enthusiastic Learning Support Assistant who is highly motivated, creative, fun and has a good understanding of child development. You will have a passion for working with pupils and assisting them on their journey. You will need to understand the subjects that you support the children in, be able to demonstrate a fair attitude and apply rules consistently as well as be confident in adjusting learning programs to meet the child’s needs. You will be resilient, hardworking and have excellent de-escalation skills.

The successful candidate will be:

Passionate, creative, and motivated with a positive outlook, able to remain calm under pressure. Committed to supporting pupils’ learning, behaviour, emotional needs, and overall welfare. Dedicated to raising outcomes for all students through innovation and continuous improvement. A strong communicator with excellent organisational and written skills, able to multi-task effectively. An enthusiastic team player with good classroom management and a commitment to safeguarding. Able to follow safeguarding procedures and prioritise students’ welfare Educated to GCSE Level in Maths and English and will have obtained Grade 4-9 or equivalent Resilient, hardworking and have excellent de-escalation skills Bonnygate Primary School is a member of the Osborne Co-operative Academy Trust.
