Job description

King Edward VI Handsworth School for Girls is seeking a reliable, enthusiastic and caring Lunchtime Supervisor to join our dedicated team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys working with young people and wants to contribute to a positive and safe school environment. The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting pupils during the lunchtime period, ensuring they can enjoy their break safely and comfortably while maintaining high standards of behaviour and wellbeing across the school. Key responsibilities include: Supervising pupils during lunchtime and encouraging positive behaviour. Preparing dining areas before lunch service, including cleaning tables and sweeping floors. Maintaining a clean, safe and welcoming dining environment throughout the lunch period. Clearing trays, plates and cutlery and assisting with dishwasher duties. Managing waste disposal and ensuring bins are ready for service. Cleaning chairs and windowsills following lunch service. Keeping outdoor patio areas free from litter. Ensuring pupils follow health and safety expectations, including safe queuing and appropriate use of school facilities. Working collaboratively with colleagues to support the smooth running of lunchtime provision. We are looking for someone who: Enjoys working with children and young people. Has a positive and friendly approach. Can communicate effectively and confidently. Is able to work as part of a team. Demonstrates a commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children. Is dependable, organised and able to maintain high standards of cleanliness and safety.
