Pastoral Support Officer - Corby Location: Corby, Northamptonshire Start Date: September 2026 Contract: Full-time, Term Time Only Pastoral Support Officer - Corby Tradewind Recruitment are currently seeking a dedicated and compassionate Pastoral Support Officer to join a supportive secondary school in the Corby area. This rewarding role is ideal for individuals who are passionate about supporting young people, promoting positive behaviour, and helping students overcome barriers to learning. As a Pastoral Support Officer, you will work closely with students, teaching staff, parents, and external agencies to ensure pupils receive the pastoral and emotional support they need to thrive both inside and outside the classroom. Key Responsibilities: • Provide pastoral support to students across the school. • Build positive relationships with pupils to support their wellbeing, confidence, and engagement in education. • Support students with behaviour, attendance, emotional regulation, and personal development. • Deliver interventions and mentoring sessions for students requiring additional support. • Work closely with teaching staff and safeguarding teams to identify and address barriers to learning. • Liaise with parents, carers, and external agencies to ensure students receive appropriate support. • Monitor student progress, wellbeing, and attendance, maintaining accurate records where required. • Promote a safe, inclusive, and positive school environment. The Ideal Candidate Will Have: • Previous experience working with young people in a school, youth work, mentoring, care, or support setting. • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills. • A calm, resilient, and empathetic approach. • Strong behaviour management and conflict-resolution skills. • A genuine passion for supporting the wellbeing and development of young people. • Knowledge of safeguarding procedures and child protection practices. • An enhanced DBS on the Update Service or willingness to obtain one.
