A prominent secondary academy in Manchester is seeking a compassionate and proactive Pastoral Support Officer for a full-time, permanent role starting in September 2026. This position is ideal for a practitioner who is passionate about student wellbeing and removing barriers to learning. The School Environment Wellbeing is the foundation of this school's success. Responsibilities • Act as a key point of contact for students requiring emotional or behavioral support during the school day. • Mediate restorative justice meetings to resolve peer conflicts and maintain a respectful school culture. • Collaborate with the Special Educational Needs (SEN) team to implement tailored support plans. • Maintain regular communication with parents and external agencies to ensure a holistic approach to student welfare. • Monitor attendance and punctuality trends, working with families to improve student engagement. Requirements • Experience working with young people in a school, youth work, or social care setting. • Exceptional communication skills and the ability to remain calm under pressure. • Knowledge of safeguarding procedures and child protection legislation. • Must have the right to work in the UK.
