Job description

Main purpose of the role Lead the efficient and effective day-to-day delivery of the school's finance, business and operational functions. Provide accurate financial information, strong budget monitoring and high-quality operational advice to the CFOO, Head of School and senior leaders. Ensure that school-level financial processes, records and controls are accurate, timely, compliant and audit-ready. Lead and develop relevant business support teams, promoting high standards of service, accountability and continuous improvement. Coordinate key areas including finance administration, procurement, HR administration, payroll inputs, contracts, premises operations and business compliance. Ensure that business services are aligned with the school's educational priorities and contribute positively to the experience of students, staff and families. Translate Trust and school priorities into clear operational plans, systems, routines and service standards. Provide visible, calm and solution-focused leadership across school business functions. Contribute to leadership meetings and decision-making as required, bringing a clear understanding of resources, risk and operational implications. Identify inefficiencies, risks and service gaps, recommending and implementing sustainable improvements. Develop a strong culture of customer service, professional accountability and collaboration within business support teams. Maintain effective relationships with external providers, contractors, professional advisers and partner organisations.
