Job description

Due to the internal promotion of a valued member of our site team, an exciting opportunity has become available for an Assistant Site Supervisor to join us. Their progression within the Trust reflects our commitment to recognising potential, developing talent and supporting colleagues to achieve their career aspirations. Are you someone who enjoys fixing things, solving problems and taking pride in creating safe, welcoming environments? Do you have hands-on maintenance, DIY, caretaking, facilities, building or trade experience and want a role where your work genuinely makes a difference every day? This is far more than a traditional site role. Every day brings something different, from carrying out repairs and maintenance to helping ensure our school remains a safe, welcoming and positive environment for children and young people with Special Educational Needs. Whether your experience comes from facilities management, construction, maintenance, property services, a trade background or practical hands-on work, we would love to hear from you. What Matters Most to Us We recognise that skills, experience and attitude can be just as valuable as formal qualifications. If you have practical maintenance skills, enjoy tackling a variety of tasks and take pride in keeping buildings and grounds in excellent condition, we encourage you to apply. GCSE Grade 4/C or above in English and Maths (or equivalent) is essential. However, where candidates can demonstrate relevant skills and experience, we are committed to supporting the successful candidate to achieve any required qualifications through training and professional development. We're Looking for Someone Who Can Demonstrate: Experience of carrying out building repairs, maintenance or practical site-related duties An understanding of health and safety requirements and how these are applied in practice The ability to maintain safe, secure and welcoming environments Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage a varied workload The ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team Positive communication and interpersonal skills when working with colleagues, contractors and visitors Flexibility and adaptability in responding to the changing needs of a busy school environment A willingness to learn, share good practice and develop professionally A commitment to supporting children and young people by contributing to a positive school environment
