About the role

Waterfront UTC is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Primary Classroom Teacher to join our team for two days per week, starting with immediate effect. This unique role is focused on supporting our most vulnerable and disadvantaged students in Years 9-13 to develop the essential English and Mathematics skills they need to succeed. Many of our students arrive with gaps in learning that can act as barriers to progress across the curriculum. We are looking for an outstanding practitioner with experience of teaching foundational literacy and numeracy who can deliver targeted intervention, catch-up programmes and personalised support to help students build confidence, resilience and academic success. This is a rewarding opportunity to use primary teaching expertise in a secondary and technical college setting, helping young people overcome barriers to learning and achieve their full potential. This is a part time, fixed term role, paid on the STPC Main/Upper Teacher Pay Range, dependant on experience. The working pattern will consist of 13 hours per week (0.4 FTE). There is flexibility with the working days and pattern and are to be discussed at interview level. This role is fixed term until July 2027, due to the mainstream inclusive funding.
