Salary – Scale D, £13.92 - £14.14 per hour Permanent Part Time 32.5 hours per week Term Time plus 1 week Required ASAP after October half term

We are looking for 2 x Teaching Assistants for SEMH SRB as soon as possible after October half term. Initially KS1 but will expand to include KS2. Toftwood Infant and Junior School Federation are looking for 2 teaching assistants for our brand new SEMH SRB. The unit is initially opening in January 2027 for KS1 and will then expand to KS2 around September 27. There will be essential training so the posts will start as soon as possible after October half term to ensure the training programme is completed before children arrive. . We are looking for highly qualified, skilled and motivated teaching assistants who enjoy working as part of a team to join us to ensure the best possible care and education for our children. A commitment to children with SEMH needs is essential, as well as an understanding of their needs and how to support them effectively.

The successful candidates must:

Have experience and understanding of children with SEMH needs and supporting those with trauma. Be able to maintain a clam manner at all times, focussing on supporting the behavioural challenges of children so they can feel welcomed and valued in order to succeed. Have experience of supporting children to become successful and independent learners in a school environment and have a good understanding of how children learn Have experience of working with children or learners with SEMH needs. Be a dedicated practitioner, who is committed to ensuring all children are engaged in their learning, make progress and achieve well A commitment to all children, regardless of need or ability The ability to support children with a range of SEN and medical needs as required Be inspirational in their work, with excellent communication skills, excellent relationships with children and the ability to engage and support all learners Have excellent organisational skills, in the classroom and with their own work, including being able to work to deadlines effectively Be able to work as part of a team An understanding of the Primary curriculum We can offer the successful candidate A commitment to providing high quality training and development opportunities to help you progress in your career A highly skilled staff across the Federation who can support in all areas professional development Children that are eager to learn and rise to challenges presented to them You would be employed under a federation contract, meaning you will work in the Federation as required. We will require two work based references, including references from positions where you have worked with children (if you have held such a position).
