About the role

St Frideswides Primary School is seeking to appoint a nurturing, experienced and enthusiastic Teaching Assistant/HLTA to join our SEND team. Working 32.5 hours per week over 5 days. St Frideswides is a successful multicultural primary school serving a community that values our work. We are very well-resourced, have a large and committed staff team, well-behaved, appreciative pupils, and highly supportive trustees. The school has a happy and vibrant ethos. The school is set in spacious, attractive, and well-maintained modern premises with grounds that offer great potential for learning. We are looking for a SEND Teaching Assistant/HLTA willing to nurture children within our community of OX4. Dedicated to improving the life chances of every child and young person. To have an enthusiastic, imaginative, and caring approach to children with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) To be dedicated to improving the life chances of every child and young person by promoting nurture across the whole educational system and beyond To be able to work as part of a team and build positive relationships To have grand expectations of students’ achievements relating to learning, independence, and behaviour To have the ability to build positive relationships with students To be able to be flexible in your teaching approach. Willingness to develop own CPD, be Nurture trained or willing to participate in further training opportunities To have the ability to use ICT effectively to support teaching and learning Your Experience The job description describes the full areas of skills and experience we require, but, it is important to us that you feel comfortable and confident in your role, so although you may not have all the skills we are looking for there are some essential features our appointee will need to have, and these include: Experience working within primary or SEND setting. Excellent communication, Literacy and Numeracy skills. Nurture trained or willing to be trained and make the difference for the children within our community St Frideswide CE Primary School as a member of the Oxford Diocesan Schools Trust, is committed to safeguarding children and young people. All postholders in regulated activity are subject to appropriate vetting procedures and a satisfactory Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) Enhanced check. Online checks may also be carried out to comply with KCSIE.
