Job description

Teaching Assistant 27 hours per week Monday, Tuesday & Thursday - Full days Wednesday - Half day Term time + 1 week To start September 2026 Join our team at North Durham Academy and help shape young futures! We are seeking a committed and enthusiastic Teaching Assistant to become part of our supportive secondary school community. This is a rewarding opportunity to make a real difference, helping students access the curriculum, build confidence and develop the skills they need to succeed. Working closely with teachers and the SENCO, you will support students both in lessons and through small group interventions, helping to raise attainment and promote inclusion. You’ll play a key role in creating a positive, safe and engaging learning environment, encouraging independence, supporting wellbeing, and ensuring every student feels valued. At North Durham Academy, you’ll be part of a dedicated team that values collaboration, high expectations and student success.
