About the role

The Arthur Terry School is seeking to appoint an enthusiastic, caring and dedicated Teaching Assistant (Level 2 or Level 3) to join our supportive and ambitious team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who is passionate about supporting young people and helping them to achieve their full potential. The successful candidate will work alongside teachers and other colleagues to support students' learning, progress, wellbeing and inclusion across the school. Key responsibilities Supporting teachers in the delivery of effective learning activities, working with individuals and small groups of students where appropriate. Providing encouragement, guidance and practical support to students to help them engage positively with their learning. Supporting students who may experience barriers to learning, helping them to develop confidence, independence and resilience. Helping to create and maintain a positive, inclusive and purposeful learning environment. Monitoring students' engagement and progress and sharing relevant information with teaching staff. Working collaboratively with teachers, pastoral staff, SEND colleagues and other professionals to support student achievement and wellbeing. Contributing to the wider life of the school and promoting high expectations of behaviour, attendance and achievement. What you'll need to succeed A Level 2 or Level 3 qualification in Supporting Teaching and Learning, or a relevant equivalent qualification. Experience of working with young people in an educational or similar setting. Have a caring, patient and positive approach to supporting students. High expectations of student behaviour, engagement and achievement. Can establish positive and professional relationships with students. Be confident supporting individuals and groups of students and adapting their approach to meet different needs. Have good communication and organisational skills, with the ability to work effectively as part of a team. Be adaptable, reliable and able to respond positively to changing priorities.
