Tutor (eSports and/or Physical Education/Personal Training) Instructor Scale SCP 18-23 + SEN Allowance Term Time Only - 39 weeks per year Forest Moor School is seeking an enthusiastic, highly motivated Tutor with subject expertise in either eSports and/or Physical Education/Personal Training to take a lead role in planning, coordinating, and delivering engaging vocational programmes and activities. Forest Moor School is a Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) school based at Menwith Hill, just outside of Harrogate. It is a Key Stage 2 - 4 provision with around 130 students on role in beautiful surroundings. Our aim is to provide the best possible care and education that we can for children and young people with SEMH needs. Whether delivering practical physical health and personal training sessions or leading digital media and eSports learning, you will run dynamic, hands-on activities designed to build team management skills, health and well-being, technical competencies and personal confidence. You will work closely with support staff, guide volunteers and build strong links with external organisations and industry partners to prepare our students for the modern world of work.

Key Responsibilities

Curriculum & Activity Delivery: Plan and deliver structured, high-quality learning sessions supporting pupils to achieve relevant accreditations and certifications.

Student Engagement & Progress: Create safe, effective and enjoyable programmes that encourage weekly participation. Track, evidence and report on student progress and personal development over time.

Staff Mentoring & Supervision: Provide direction, supervision and mentoring to support staff, coaches and volunteers to maintain high quality programme delivery and identify team training needs.

Promotion & Inclusion: Develop promotional plans to ensure equitable access across the school, proactively engaging traditionally under-represented and vulnerable student groups.

Partnerships & Budgeting: Establish external networks with industry bodies and community organisations, manage allocated budgets and explore potential external funding sources.

What we are looking for:

Subject Knowledge: Demonstrable subject knowledge and/or qualification in either eSports and/or Physical Education/ Personal Training, or a related area.

Qualifications: Level 3 qualification (or equivalent) in education or a relevant subject area.

Tutoring / Teaching Experience: Proven track record in planning, delivering, and coordinating educational or vocational programmes

Supervisory Skills: Experience supervising, mentoring or supporting support staff or team members.

Inclusion Focus: Strong understanding of inclusion, the barriers facing young people with SEN/SEMH and approaches to supporting pupils at risk of social exclusion.

Interpersonal Skills: Excellent communication skills with the ability to network with external bodies and present to working groups
