About the role

The Opportunity This is an opportunity to play an important part in the school day by helping to create a welcoming dining experience where pupils can enjoy nutritious meals and feel ready to learn. As a Catering Assistant, your contribution will support the wellbeing of students, help remove barriers to learning and ensure every child is well supported throughout the day. Working as part of a friendly and dedicated catering team, you will make a visible difference to the school community while developing your skills within the wider Brooke Weston Trust. If you take pride in delivering excellent service and enjoy working with others, this is a rewarding role where your work helps equip young people with the confidence and opportunities that become their “tickets for life”.

About the Role

As a Catering Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting the delivery of a high-quality catering service that helps pupils stay healthy, energised and ready to learn. Working closely with the Head Chef and wider catering team, you will contribute to the preparation, presentation and service of meals, helping to create a welcoming dining experience for both students and staff. This is a hands-on role where attention to detail, teamwork and a commitment to high standards are essential. You will help maintain a clean, safe and efficient kitchen environment, follow food hygiene and health and safety procedures, and ensure that every customer receives a friendly and professional service. Success in the role means consistently contributing to excellent standards of food service, cleanliness and safety while supporting a positive experience for everyone who uses the school’s catering provision. We are looking for someone who is reliable, enthusiastic and takes pride in their work. You will be a strong team player with excellent interpersonal skills, capable of working independently when required and maintaining high standards in a busy environment. Experience of working in a kitchen is welcomed, and a willingness to learn, undertake training and contribute positively to the wider school community is essential. In keeping with the values of Brooke Weston Trust, you will help foster a culture of high expectations, collaboration and service, making a meaningful contribution to the daily life of the school and the success of its pupils. Be part of something bigger At Brooke Weston Trust, we believe education has the power to transform lives. Our purpose is to give every child and young person the knowledge, qualifications, confidence, character and opportunities that become their tickets for life. Each of our schools has its own identity, shaped by the community it serves, while benefiting from being part of a connected and collaborative Trust. Together, we share ideas, expertise and opportunities so that our pupils, colleagues and schools can flourish. Whatever your role, you will be part of a wider team united by a shared purpose. Whether you work directly with pupils or support their education in another way, your contribution helps to create the experiences and opportunities every child deserves. A simple question guides our decisions and keeps children at the centre of our work: Is this good enough for our children? A place to belong, grow and make a difference Our people are central to everything we achieve. We want every colleague to feel that they belong, are valued for their contribution and are supported to build a fulfilling career. As part of our Trust, you will have opportunities to develop your expertise, learn with and from colleagues across our schools and central teams, contribute your ideas and explore future career opportunities. You will be part of a professional community that shares knowledge, celebrates success and works together to make a lasting difference to children, families and communities. We are committed to creating positive and inclusive working environments built on trust, respect and shared responsibility. We want colleagues to feel supported to do their best work, encouraged to develop and confident that their contribution matters. What we can offer you Creating tickets for life for our children begins with attracting, developing and supporting great people. We want Brooke Weston Trust to be a place where colleagues feel valued, supported and able to thrive. Alongside the opportunity to make a genuine difference to children and young people, you will have access to a range of benefits designed to support your wellbeing, development and future.
