Job description

Part-time Cleaner Vacancy - Permanent - Dorothy Goodman School We are seeking hard-working, dedicated school cleaners with a ‘can do attitude’, to work in our special school. You will work as a part of the team undertaking various cleaning duties throughout the school to ensure our children’s learning environment is always clean. We have a vacancy for a cleaner to work at Dorothy Goodman School Secondary Site, this is a 41 weeks per year contract. Start date to be confirmed. Salary: Grade 2 £24,423.00 FTE. Actual salary £7423.95 Hourly rate: £12.65 The hours of work will be 12.5 per week, working mornings 6:00 am - 8:30 am or afternoons 3:30pm - 6:00pm 41 weeks per year equates to term time plus 15 shifts at agreed times during the school holidays. Closing date: 20th September 2026 at midday Interview date: 23rd September 2026 (from 1:30 pm onwards) Duties will include the use of electrical and mechanical equipment, floor polishers etc for which you will receive training. Ideally, although not essential, you will have knowledge of COSHH Regulations. You will undertake Health & Safety training to ensure that you are aware of your responsibilities for the Health and Safety of others as well as yourself when carrying out your duties. The post is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 and subject to a check being carried out at an Enhanced level by the Disclosure and Barring Service regarding any previous criminal record.
