About the role

At Summerswood Primary School, we are proud of our inclusive ethos, where every child is recognised as an individual and given the support, encouragement and opportunities they need to flourish. We are looking to appoint a caring, dedicated and highly effective Teaching Assistant to join our team, working across Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) and Key Stage 1 . We are seeking an outstanding practitioner who can foster strong, trusting relationships, demonstrate empathy and understanding, and have a positive impact on the lives of all our learners including our most vulnerable pupils. The successful candidate will be patient, nurturing and adaptable, with a strong commitment to promoting children’s emotional wellbeing, educational progress and personal growth. Working closely with teachers and colleagues, you will help create a welcoming, engaging and supportive environment where every child feels safe, valued and able to achieve their potential. If you are passionate about inclusive education, believe that every child deserves the chance to succeed, and want to be part of a team that combines high expectations with kindness and care, we would be delighted to hear from you. The successful candidate will: Have experience of supporting children with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND). Be enthusiastic about embracing new challenges and working collaboratively as part of a team. Demonstrate the ability to use their own initiative and work independently when required. Be adaptable, patient and understanding, while maintaining clear and consistent expectations. Provide a calm, positive and consistent approach to supporting children’s learning and development. In return, we can offer: A welcoming, supportive and diverse school community. High-quality professional development and training opportunities. The opportunity to work as part of a dedicated team committed to achieving the best outcomes for all children. Visits to our school are encouraged and can be arranged by contacting Judith Flax, School Secretary, in the school office. Summerswood Primary School is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people. We expect all staff and volunteers to share and uphold this commitment. Our recruitment and selection procedures are designed to reflect our dedication to safeguarding and to ensuring the suitability of everyone who works with our pupils. We reserve the right to close this vacancy early should a sufficient number of suitable applications be received.
