Job description

Assessor Early Years Education Full time - Term Time Only We are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic, qualified and experienced Assessor Early Years Education to support and assess students undertaking their vocational learning and workplace practice within childcare settings. The post is offered on a full-time, term-time only basis , with the successful candidate working during College term time. The successful candidate will support students undertaking the T-Level in Education and Childcare (Early Years Educator), delivering facilitation sessions in College and supporting students to develop the practical skills and knowledge required for their placement and assessment. The Assessor Early Years Education will undertake regular placement visits to observe and assess students’ competency in practice, in line with College, quality assurance and awarding body requirements. The role will involve maintaining regular contact with students, College staff and employers, providing appropriate feedback and support, identifying any concerns regarding student progress or support needs, and ensuring all assessment records and documentation are completed accurately and within required timescales. We are seeking an enthusiastic, organised and experienced childcare professional with experience of working with children, preferably across the 0-8 age range, who is confident in supporting and assessing learners within a workplace setting. Applicants should hold a relevant Assessor qualification, such as A1, D32/D33 or CAVA, or be working towards an appropriate assessor qualification. Excellent communication, organisational and interpersonal skills are essential, together with the ability to work flexibly and independently and to build positive working relationships with students and placement employers. The successful candidate will promote high standards of student behaviour and professionalism and will be committed to safeguarding, equality, diversity and inclusion, whilst supporting the College’s quality assurance requirements and awarding body procedures. The salary for this role is aligned to the Sixth Form College Support staff incremental pay point range - NJC10: £23,615.43 per annum (£27,733 FTE) The closing date for applications is 12pm on Wednesday 26th August 2026 Interviews take place: w/c Monday 31st August 2026
