Job description

The Assistant Headteacher, working under the guidance of the Headteacher and working with the governing body, will play a key role in the strategic leadership and management of the school, in its community and analyse and plan for its future needs and further development within the local, national and international context. The Assistant Headteacher, working under the guidance of the Headteacher, will: Lead by example, in driving forward the school’s vision, values and objectives. Create and implement strategic plans, underpinned by sound financial planning, identifying priorities and targets for ensuring that pupils achieve high standards and make progress, increasing teachers’ effectiveness and securing school improvement Ensure that all those involved in the school are committed to its aims, motivated to achieve them, and involved in meeting long, medium and short-term objectives and targets which secure the educational success of the school Ensure that the management, finance, organisation and administration of the school supports its vision and aims Ensure that policies and practices take account of national, local and school information and inspection and research findings Monitor, evaluate and review the effects of policies and targets of the school in practice, and take action if necessary Please see recruitment pack for full details
