Job description

Every great school day starts with a clean, safe and welcoming environment. Join our team and help make a difference for hundreds of young people every day. You'll play an important role in helping us provide a clean, safe and welcoming environment where students can thrive and achieve their best. Whether you have previous cleaning experience or are looking for a new opportunity, we'd love to hear from individuals who take pride in their work and enjoy being part of a supportive team. Our cleaning team work after school from 3.30pm - ideally this role would work alongside the team, from 10:30am until 6pm (This includes a 30 minute lunch break). However, there is flexibility in this for the right candidate; for instance working from 9am until 4:30pm (Which includes a 30 minute lunch break). Hours of work can be discussed at interview. What you'll be doing Maintaining high standards of cleanliness throughout classrooms, offices, corridors and communal areas. Cleaning and sanitising washrooms and welfare facilities. Vacuuming, sweeping and mopping floors. Emptying bins and disposing of waste appropriately. Replenishing consumables such as soap and paper products. Reporting any maintenance or health and safety concerns. Helping create a positive, welcoming environment for students, staff and visitors. What we're looking for A positive attitude and strong work ethic. Reliability, punctuality and attention to detail. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Commitment to maintaining high standards of cleanliness and hygiene. Previous cleaning experience is welcome but not essential, as training can be provided. Why join us? At Anthony Gell School and Embark Federation, our people are at the heart of everything we do. We offer: A supportive and friendly working environment. The opportunity to be part of a school community that values every member of staff. Training and development opportunities. Access to employee wellbeing and support programmes. Membership of the Local Government Pension Scheme (if applicable). A role that truly contributes to the success and wellbeing of our students. Embark Federation is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. All appointments are subject to safer recruitment practices, including an enhanced DBS check. We are proud to be an equal opportunities employer and welcome applications from all individuals, regardless of background, who share our commitment to inclusion.
