About the
Role
Goffs Academy, part of the Generations Multi Academy Trust, is
seeking a highly organised and methodical Curriculum & Timetable Officer to
join the team from September 2026. This is an exciting opportunity to play a
critical role in the smooth operational running of a vibrant and successful
11-18 comprehensive school.
As Curriculum & Timetable Officer, you will support the
construction, maintenance and optimisation of the school's complex whole-school
timetable, working closely with the Senior Leadership Team to translate the
school's curriculum vision into a workable, efficient schedule for staff and
students. You will balance curriculum needs, staffing and room capacity,
ensuring resources and teaching hours are maximised.
Key
Responsibilities
Support the
annual construction of the whole-school timetable using scheduling software
(e.g. Arbor and Timetablr), collaborating closely with the SLT.
Manage and
implement in-year timetable adjustments arising from staff changes, student
choices, or curriculum adjustments.
Optimise the
use of classrooms, specialist laboratories and sports facilities to minimise
room changes and travel time.
Assist in
creating and managing GCSE and A-Level option blocks and subject allocation to
maximise student choice satisfaction.
Ensure the
school's Management Information System (MIS) is accurately populated with
curriculum structures, class lists and teacher assignments.
Manage the
end-of-year rollover and comprehensive setup of the new academic year within
the school's data systems.
Generate
data reports on class sizes, staff utilisation rates and curriculum delivery
costs for the SLT.
Act as the
primary point of contact for Heads of Department on scheduling queries, rooming
requests and timetable constraints.
Resolve
scheduling clashes logically and empathetically, keeping staff wellbeing and
student outcomes in mind.
Support the
organisation and implementation of key Curriculum and Options events across all
key stages.
Provide
administrative support to relevant members of SLT, including managing email,
calendar and stakeholder communication.
Requirements
Good
standard of education, including GCSE English and Maths at Grade C/4 or above,
or equivalent.
Proven
experience working within a secondary school administration, data, or
operations role.
Substantial
experience using secondary school Management Information Systems (MIS).
Exceptional
analytical, logical and algorithmic problem-solving skills.
Advanced
Excel capability (e.g. VLOOKUPs, INDEX/MATCH, Pivot Tables, data manipulation).
High level
of IT literacy and the ability to learn complex software systems quickly.
Ability to
manage competing priorities and meet strict operational deadlines.
Meticulous
attention to detail and high levels of accuracy.
Strong
interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to negotiate and
manage expectations.
Resilience,
discretion and flexibility when working under pressure in a fast-paced
environment.
Direct
experience constructing a complex school timetable using Arbor and Timetablr or
equivalent scheduling software (desirable).
Experience
managing options processes and academic year rollovers (desirable).
Degree or
relevant professional qualification in data management, mathematics,
statistics, or ICT (desirable).
