Job Title: Data Manager
Actual Annual Salary: £12,046 – 13,138 (Based on hours and working weeks)
Full Time Equivalent Salary: £33,009 - £336,001 (CLF Grade D). Based on 37 hours per week, all year round.
Contract Type: Permanent
Hours: Part time, 15 hours per week (2 or 3 days per week) / Term Time Only Plus INSETS and 10 additional days in line with working pattern.
Additional role info: This post is for 15 hours per week, to be worked over 2 or 3 days, with the specific working pattern to be agreed with the successful candidate. The stated hours are indicative and may be worked on any days Monday to Friday, subject to operational requirements. The role is based at Kingsmead Academy, Wiveliscombe, Somerset.

We’re looking for an experienced, detail-driven Data Manager to join Cabot Learning Federation’s Central Data Team on a permanent basis, physically based at Kingsmead Academy, Wiveliscombe, Somerset. Reporting to the Senior Data Manager, you will work within the Central Team as part of a Cluster Data Team, providing expert data support across academies within the allocated cluster.
The role will provide specialist support across the Trust’s Management Information System (Bromcom) and key data processes, ensuring the accuracy, integrity and effective use of student and performance data. Working closely with Data Team colleagues, academy leaders and teaching staff, you will deliver core data functions including statutory returns, reporting and analysis, data quality assurance, and user support and training.
This is a varied, trust-wide role offering the opportunity to apply your data expertise within a collaborative, values-driven multi-academy trust. While based at Kingsmead Academy, you will support and provide cover across academies within the assigned cluster as part of the Central and Cluster Data Teams.
About the role:
You will:
Work as part of the Cluster Data Team, maintaining accurate, secure and compliant student data across academies within the cluster.
Provide expert administration and support for the Trust’s MIS, particularly Bromcom, ensuring effective configuration and use.
Lead key annual processes including census returns, year transitions, timetabling, and start/end-of-year activities.
Produce and analyse data to support attainment tracking, progress monitoring and informed decision-making.
Deliver training, guidance and day-to-day support to colleagues on data systems and processes.
Ensure compliance with GDPR, data protection legislation and Trust policies.
Collaborate with colleagues across the wider Data Team to share best practice and improve Trust-wide systems and processes.
About you:
You will have:
Experience in data management or administration, ideally in an educational setting, or the ability to learn complex systems and processes quickly.
Knowledge of educational performance measures, KPIs, qualifications and the academic year cycle.
Experience using Management Information Systems, preferably Bromcom, and strong Excel skills.
Excellent attention to detail and a commitment to data accuracy and quality.
The ability to handle confidential information with professionalism and integrity.
Strong organisational skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines.
Effective communication and relationship-building skills.
Good literacy and numeracy skills, including GCSE English and Maths (or equivalent), and vocational experience equivalent to NVQ Level 4.

About Kingsmead Academy:
Kingsmead School is a rural mixed ability Academy with a fully comprehensive intake situated near the Devon/Somerset border, close to the Brendon Hills and Exmoor. It is a magnificent area in which to live and work. Not only is there the tranquillity and beauty of the countryside but there is the rapidly growing county town of Taunton nearby and easy access (20 minutes) to the M5 for connections to the rest of the country.
The school lies in the small town of Wiveliscombe. It caters for the age range 11-16 and has 884 students and just over 100 staff. Our latest Ofsted Report, in June 2022, gave an overall judgement that Kingsmead “requires improvement”. Mr J Eddy, Headteacher, joined Kingsmead in January 2023. He is determined to improve education at Kingsmead for our superb body of students.
