Job description

Hours of Work: 37 hours per week, term time only plus 1 week Monday to Thursday 8:30am – 4:30pm & Friday 8:30am – 4:00pm We are seeking to appoint a dynamic and dedicated Student Progress Assistant with a genuine interest in supporting young people to achieve high standards in behaviour for learning, academic progress and achievement. The majority of the role focuses on sixth form, but the successful candidate will be expected to work across the age range as required. Key responsibilities will include: Supporting the work of the SENCo Supporting the school in celebrating the achievements of all our learners Supervising students in the absence of their normal teacher Liaising between parents, students, staff and outside agencies Supporting students wellbeing and mental health Student Progress Assistants work as part of a team which is led by the Student Progress Director: Student Progress Experience of working with young people or within a school setting, counselling skills or SEND experience would be an advantage. Appropriate training and support will be available. Experience of similar environments i.e. working with young people. Evidence of working in a team and the ability to work collaboratively. Evidence of success in organisation and administration in some form of children’s/ office environment. Evidence of involvement in extra-curricular activities, youth work, voluntary work and educational visits in schools or similar institutions. Ability to support students experiencing emotional difficulties. Experience of Admin work including filing, dealing with phone calls, working with confidential material and records. An appreciation of IT, whether for presentation, pupil administration and the tracking of performance
