Job description

An exiting opportunity has arisen for the right candidate to lead our Nursery and Daycare setting into the future. The Head of Daycare will provide strategic, operational and professional leadership for the Federation's Daycare provision. Working in close partnership with the Head of EYFS, who provides strategic curriculum leadership across the Federation, the postholder will be responsible for the overall management, quality, sustainability and regulatory compliance of the setting. Together, the Head of Daycare and Head of EYFS will ensure that children experience a high-quality, inclusive and seamless Early Years journey across Low Road and Windmill Music Federation. Ability to provide high quality support for children’s learning and development within an inclusive environment, as they progress through the Early Years Foundation Stage Ability to effectively lead a staff group setting long term goals and clear plans ensuring that staff understand their roles and responsibilities, monitor and evaluate their progress Strong business and administrative skills, including budgeting, rotas, and marketing Ability to prioritise and organise work under pressure and to meet competing demands Ability to prepare written reports and plans to the Governing Body, Senior Management Team and relevant inspection services Ability to collect and analyse data using a range of systems including ICT Ability to take responsibility for the quality of work acknowledging mistakes, find solutions and learning from the experience demonstrating interpersonal skills diplomacy and maturity of judgement Ability to understand the range of factors which creates stress for children and their families, and promote practice that is responsive to the local community ensuring that children are safeguarded and their welfare needs are met Ability to provide training opportunities for staff and pursue their own training needs Ability to provide and disseminate excellent standards of professional early education and child care making links between policies and practices Ability to work in responsive partnership with parents and carers which will promote a sensitive approach that meets the needs of all children and families Ability to initiate, manage, and motivate staff, through change and challenges Minimum 2 years in a managerial role in a nursery/daycare setting Professional employment in work with young children, families, and communities Experience of issues relating to child protection Experience of managing and leading teams/individual staff Experience of working in partnership with other agencies Experience of working in close partnership with carers and parents Experience of preparing and presenting reports Experience of managing a budget Experience of leading staff training and development
