Job description

Join Our Team at Parkside School! Are you highly organised, meticulous and proactive looking to make a meaningful impact in a supportive school environment? Parkside School is seeking a dedicated colleague to join our team in the role of Specialist Administrator (SEND, Medical, Lead First Aid). In this varied role, you will work closely with the SENCO to deliver high quality administrative support, ensuring the school meets all statutory obligations for Special Educational Needs (SEND). You will oversee the efficient coordination of annual reviews, update pupil records and manage communications with parents, Local Authority Officers and external partners. Additionally, you will serve as the named lead point of contact for First Aid and medical matters across the school. Key Responsibilities SEND Administration: Provide administrative support to the SENCO and SEND leadership team; manage data systems, collect and distribute papers and organise and accurately minute annual review meetings Lead First Aid & Medical Matters: Act as the main contact for first aid and medical care; update risk assessments and policies for health conditions; oversee first aid rotas and coordinate staff medical training (e.g. EpiPens, diabetes care) Stakeholder Communication: Maintain clear, professional and empathetic communication with parents/carers, Local Authority officers, medical agencies and school staff Travel & Transport Coordination: Support and manage administrative systems for student travel arrangements, including liaising with Local Authority transport teams and managing associated financial processes Whole School Support: Provide general administrative cover (including reception duties), assist wider school teams (SEND, Attendance, Admin) as required and act as a Coach for a small group of students Who We Are Looking For Experience: Proven experience carrying out administrative and secretarial tasks, dealing with face to face and telephone interactions and managing demanding workloads under pressure. Knowledge: Knowledge of Special Educational Needs (SEND) statutory processes, data protection (GDPR) and safeguarding guidance. Skills & Abilities: Accurate keyboard skills and proficiency in ICT packages (word processing, spreadsheets, presentation software); excellent oral/written communication skills; high attention to detail and ability to take accurate meeting minutes. Qualifications: GCSEs (or equivalent) in English and Maths at Grade C/4 or above. Personal Attributes: Meticulous, patient and flexible; able to use initiative, maintain strict confidentiality, build positive working relationships and handle difficult situations effectively.
