Job description

This is an exciting opportunity to join the staff of our popular school. We have vacancies across both sites 3 x Key Stage TA roles 24.25 hours pw 8.45-1.3.0 four days, 8.45-3.45 one day (£ 14,158 pa actual - a pay award is pending) With a total of over 700 pupils across two site our school family is diverse and we are looking for colleagues to join our TA and Inclusion Teams supporting pupils in class. You will be deployed across a Key Stage, supporting the day to day class environment for all pupils. Managed by the Phase Leader, Class Teacher and SENDCo we have a team of more than 30 TAs. You will: Under the instruction and guidance of teaching staff/managers, undertake educational activities and attend to the educational, personal and social needs of pupils in order to support their learning and development and to ensure they are safe. Attend to the educational, personal and social needs of pupils and any other requirements depending on the pupil’s special needs and, wherever possible, make these part of the learning experience. Promote and support the inclusion of all pupils in the learning activities in which they are involved Within the overall plan set by the class teacher, assist in devising and extending educational activities and in preparation of the curriculum. This may include contributing to the development and implementation of Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and Personal and Pastoral Support Plans. Assist in maintaining classroom discipline by working with individual and groups of pupils in developing expectations of acceptable personal and social behaviour and help make them part of the learning experience Have a minimum of 6 months’ experience of working with children in an educational setting, within the last 5 years. This post will involve regular contact with children, and therefore is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974. Any information that is “protected” under the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 (Exceptions) Order 1975 will not appear on a DBS certificate and does not need to be declared. Shortlisted candidates will be asked to complete a self-declaration related to their criminal record or any information that would make them unsuitable to work with children. Additional checks in relation to the Childcare Disqualification Regulations will be undertaken for successful candidates. If you have lived or worked outside of the UK, additional information may be required from you to satisfy safer recruitment checks.
