Job description

Teaching Assistant (Teaching and Learning - Level 2) Location: St John’s Church School Grade / Hours: Grade 6, (8.30am - 3.30pm plus Wednesday until 5pm, 1 hr break = 31.75hrs per week, 39 weeks per year) RESPONSIBLE TO: Head of School Start date As soon as possible Are you passionate about helping children thrive both academically and personally? Do you enjoy working as part of a supportive and dedicated team? We are seeking to appoint a caring, enthusiastic and skilled Teaching & Learning Teaching Assistant to join our dedicated staff team. This rewarding role will involve working predominantly within a year group, supporting high-quality teaching through classroom support, leading small-group learning and delivering targeted interventions to help every child flourish. The successful candidate will: Lead planned intervention programmes to accelerate pupils' progress. Work across a year group, supporting teaching and learning within classrooms. Deliver small-group learning activities under the direction of teachers. Support individual pupils to overcome barriers to learning. Assist with phonics, reading, writing and mathematics interventions. Contribute to assessment by providing feedback on pupils' progress. Build positive relationships with pupils, families and colleagues. Support pupils' wellbeing and promote high expectations for learning. We are looking for someone who: Has experience working within a primary school. Is confident leading learning with small groups of pupils. Can build positive relationships quickly. Has excellent literacy and numeracy skills. Can use initiative while working as part of a team. Has high expectations for every child. Is committed to inclusion and safeguarding.
