Executive Headteacher: Anna Martin Head of School: Hannah Howlett Roll: 95 Teaching Assistant Temporary Fixed Term Contract September 2026 - August 2027. 32.5 hours per week 8:30am -3:30pm with a 30-minute unpaid lunch, term time only Grade 2 SCP 3 Actual salary £18,713.08 - 19,006.65. The governors of St Swithun’s C of E Primary Academy are looking to appoint an enthusiastic, committed and suitably qualified person who can demonstrate flexibility and are adaptable. At St Swithun’s all members of staff are highly motivated to ensure our children are happy and fulfill their potential, academically and socially. The successful applicant will be given an opportunity to work in a creative environment, alongside enthusiastic and dedicated teachers and support staff. We are seeking to appoint an experienced practitioner who will also have good experience of working with children with SEND. The position is for a Grade 2 TA, working with small groups of children with a range of needs and one to one supervision for part of the working day Monday to Friday 8.30am-3.30pm. The successful applicants will: Be passionate about improving the life chances of children Be caring, patient and trustworthy Assist the teaching staff in the delivery of educational activities and programmes of learning to individuals and small groups of children Communicate effectively and have a secure knowledge of the EYFS and Primary Curriculum, including good mathematics, English and ICT skills Has excellent interpersonal skills, a good sense of humour and enjoys being part of a friendly and supportive team; Demonstrate outstanding professional qualities Have a proven track record of organisation, resourcefulness and efficiency Have a commitment to high standards, personal success and self-development Be enthusiastic and willing to learn and continue to develop - hold themselves to account and work to do the same positively with the whole team whilst working towards whole school goals A flexible approach to working and a can-do attitude, even when working under pressure Have a proven record of excellent communication and teamwork skills Be willing to uphold and demonstrate our school values at all times Be a positive, proactive, caring role model for our children Have a positive impact on the children, the wider school environment and our school community Demonstrate initiative Carry out any other duties relevant to the post as required by the Headteacher Fully support and uphold the Christian ethos of the school Be physically able to complete manual handling training for a child with a physical disability The school will offer: An organisation committed to excellence where pupils and staff are highly valued A committed organisation that supports children and staff An experienced, supportive and committed staff team that work hard for the benefit of all the children Respectful, positive, motivated and happy children A committed and friendly team of hard-working, ambitious, supportive staff We are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and would expect anyone joining our school to share the same ethos.
