The Student Support Team is a very close-knit and effective group of individuals who provide high quality and personalised care and support in the belief that this is key to student success and enjoyment during their time at the Academy. The successful candidate will be involved mainly in the supervision of classes where work has been set by absent teachers or students who are undertaking self-directed learning. This post will be open to any applicant with suitable skills and experience. This position may be particularly attractive to graduates who are thinking of pursuing a career in teaching in the longer term. Applicants for this post must be enthusiastic and possess a positive and determined character which is seen as an essential part of the role. You must have positive approaches to and enjoy working with young people and be able to set clear guidelines for them. The post offers a fulfilling opportunity to work with young people at the Academy. Attleborough Academy is a popular, 11 to 18 Academy which is continually developing to meet the demands of providing the highest quality education for all students. Attleborough as a town is poised for major expansion and the Academy is the chosen secondary to have facilities developed as part of the Masterplan. Extensive building and development work is taking place in areas including our sports facilities, science facilities and Sixth Form. The Academy joined the Sapientia Education Trust (SET) in June 2020 which was an exciting and important development for the school. The SET are committed to bringing like-minded schools together to work in partnership to develop a world class education. This merger has multiple benefits in terms of teaching and learning and new opportunities for students and staff. Just before Easter 2023, we were delighted to announce that we had been awarded the World Class School Quality Mark which is a tribute to all in our community. We are an inclusive, friendly and effective learning community with high aspirations and a reputation for innovation. Excellent relationships between students and staff are at the heart of the ethos of the Academy and are often commented on by those who visit the school. Indeed, on our most recent Ofsted Inspection Report (2021) we were termed a ‘special place to be’. The Academy is a hardworking and caring community of people with high standards and high expectations. Our core values are Commitment, Acknowledgement, Respect and Excellence (CARE). CARE therefore has a genuine meaning within our school as we want the Academy to be a place where these values are seen in all aspects of our work together. The post will be offered subject to enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) clearance. How to apply A job description is available form ‘Attachments’. Please visit the Sapientia Education Trust website - www.se-trust.org to download an application pack.
