Job description

At St Thomas of Canterbury Catholic Primary School, we believe every part of the school day matters. Guided by our Mission Statement, "Let all that you do be done with love," we are looking for a caring, enthusiastic Lunchtime Play Leader to help make lunchtime a safe, happy and enjoyable experience for every child. We are looking for someone who: Supports the Catholic ethos and values of our school. Believes every child deserves to feel safe, valued and included. Enjoys building positive relationships with children. Is happy to join in games, activities and conversations. Encourages children to be Ready, Respectful and Safe. Can remain calm, caring and positive. Is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children. The role includes: Supervising children in the dining hall and on the playground. Encouraging good manners and healthy eating. Helping to clear tables and maintain a tidy dining environment. Organising and joining in playground games and activities. Supporting children to resolve disagreements and develop friendships. Providing basic first aid (training can be provided). Following safeguarding procedures and reporting any concerns promptly. The successful applicant will play an important role in promoting the safety and wellbeing of our children and will be expected to uphold the school's safeguarding policies at all times. The post is subject to an enhanced DBS check, Children's Barred List check, satisfactory references and all other safer recruitment checks in line with Keeping Children Safe in Education.
