How does the finder match my child's age?
We use each school's official age range from the DfE register (for example 4 to 11). A school only appears if your child's age is inside that range.
Is the distance the walking distance?
No. It is the straight-line distance from the centre of your postcode or town. Councils measure distance in their own way for admissions, often by walking route or from your home address.
Where do exam results come from?
We haven't imported the DfE school performance tables yet, so results show as not yet imported. We won't estimate them.
Does a match mean my child will get a place?
No. Admissions are decided by each school's admissions authority. Use our admissions checker and the council's admissions pages before you apply.
Do you keep my postcode?
No. Your postcode or town is looked up for this search only and is never saved.
