About the role

About the Role

Leeds City College are recruiting for a Data & Performance Officer in the Quality of Education team. In this role, you will manage the full data lifecycle, from initial collection and preparation through to analysis and interpretation. You will develop and maintain dashboards, monitor key trends, and communicate meaningful, actionable insights to stakeholders, ensuring the highest standards of data accuracy, governance, and GDPR compliance. You will also serve as the primary point of contact for data-related enquiries, provide tailored systems training to enhance staff knowledge and confidence, and undertake essential administrative responsibilities to support the smooth running of the department. If you do not already hold a Level 4 or higher data qualification, you will complete a Level 4 Data Analysis Apprenticeship as part of the role. Please note that this vacancy may close earlier than advertised, so we recommend submitting your application as soon as possible to avoid missing out. What You Will Do

  • Work with stakeholders to understand their information needs and define appropriate reporting requirements.
  • Source, extract, organise, cleanse, and analyse data from multiple systems, ensuring high levels of consistency, accuracy, and quality.
  • Design, develop, and maintain reports and interactive dashboards to track performance, highlight potential risks, and identify areas for improvement and opportunity.
  • Examine datasets to identify trends, patterns, and emerging insights that support informed decision-making.
  • Interpret and communicate analytical findings to colleagues and stakeholders, presenting complex information in a easy to understand format to aid evidence-based decisions.
  • Handle sensitive and confidential information with the utmost integrity, conducting regular data quality checks and ensuring full compliance with GDPR and relevant data protection standards.
  • Participate in the evaluation and review of data projects, identifying key learnings and opportunities to improve future processes and initiatives.

About You

  • Level 2 qualifications in English and Maths (Grade A–C or equivalent), alongside a relevant Level 3 or Level 4 qualification applicable to the role.
  • Practical experience using business or education software, including intermediate/advanced Excel (formulas and pivot tables), Google Workspace and management information systems such as ProSolution, ProAchieve or OneFile, with the ability to analyse data, identify trends and recommend improvements.
  • Proven ability to build effective, working relationships with colleagues and stakeholders at all levels.
  • Strong IT, numerical and data management skills, with excellent attention to detail, a professional and confidential approach to handling information, and the ability to communicate complex data clearly to a range of audiences.
  • Excellent interpersonal, problem-solving and communication skills, with the ability to use initiative and a proactive, solution-focused approach to enhance service delivery.
