Roles, role changes and lost access

What each role can do, and what to do if you lose access.

Access to a workspace comes from an active membership with a role. Changing a role changes what a member can do immediately, and removing a member ends their access to that organisation's data at once.

If you have lost access — for example the only administrator has left — send a support request from the account you use, and we will verify before restoring anything.

Keep at least two administrators in a workspace so a single person leaving cannot lock everyone out. Role and membership changes are recorded, and the people affected are told, because losing or gaining access is a service matter rather than an optional update. Nobody can raise their own role.
