Saved searches and job alerts
The difference between re-running a search and being told about new matches.
A saved search is a search you can re-run yourself. A job alert is a request to be told about new matching vacancies, checked on a schedule you choose.
Alert matches always appear in your notifications. An alert email is only sent once transactional email delivery is switched on for the platform; until then we never imply an email was sent.
You can pause an alert when you are not looking, resume it later, change its frequency between daily and weekly, or delete it entirely. Pausing keeps the criteria so you do not have to rebuild them. An alert never shows you the same vacancy twice, and vacancies that have closed are left out rather than padding the count.
