Searching and filtering vacancies

You can search by keyword, filter by role, phase, contract type and salary band, and narrow to a location or a distance from a postcode. Sorting by newest first is useful when you check back often, because closing dates vary a lot between schools.

A filter only ever narrows results. If a vacancy is missing a piece of information, we do not guess it — the vacancy simply will not appear under that filter. That is deliberate: a salary filter that included vacancies with no stated salary would quietly hide the fact that the salary is unknown.

If a search returns nothing useful, remove the narrowest filter first — usually the postcode radius or the salary band — and widen from there. You can save a search you expect to repeat, and turn it into a job alert so new matches come to you instead.
