Learning Support Assistant

We are looking to appoint a Learning Support Assistant. This role is a fixed term position for 3 years, for 30 hours per week (8.30am until 3.00pm, Monday to Friday), term time only plus a proportion of inset days. We will also consider applications for part week working.

The role will include:

• support for pupils in class assisting the class teacher
• small group intervention work
• playground duties at playtime and lunchtime
• 1:1 assistance with SEN children The successful candidates will work within a hardworking, dedicated and friendly team. There are excellent opportunities professional development and there is strong support for staff welfare.

The successful applicant will:

• be able to develop positive relationships with the pupils
• have a calm, patient and caring attitude
• be an effective team member Knowledge and experience of working with children with Special Educational Needs is desirable but not essential.

Alongside this main contract, we also offer the opportunity to be involved in our much-valued extended care clubs which run in the morning from 7.50 - 8.30 a.m. and in the afternoon from 3.00 - 5.45 p.m.. These sessions are an important part of our school community and provide a welcoming environment for pupils beyond the core day. For those who are interested, this can be taken on in addition to the main role, offering flexibility and the chance to contribute further while enhancing overall hours.
