As a Lecturer in Manufacturing Engineering, you will join our Ofsted-rated 'Good' Colleges Group, delivering the City & Guilds 4515 Technical Certificate to Level 3 Engineering Fitter and Level 3 Mechatronics apprentices. You will help learners develop the theoretical knowledge and practical manufacturing competence required to succeed in their apprenticeship and prepare for Gateway and End Point Assessment (EPA). You will plan and deliver engaging theoretical and practical lessons for first year apprenticeship cohorts, covering units including Health and Safety, Communication & Teamwork, Applied Science & Maths, Maintenance Procedures, Electrical & Electronic Circuits, Three Phase Systems, Engineering Drawings, Engineering Materials, Principles of Machining, Project Management and TIG Welding. Working within our engineering workshops, you will promote and maintain high standards of health and safety while supervising the safe use of lathes, milling machines, pillar drills, grinding equipment, hand and power tools, TIG welding equipment and electrical testing equipment. You will use formative assessment to monitor learners' practical competence, provide timely feedback and challenge and stretch high performing learners. We are looking for someone who holds an HNC (Level 4/5) or above specifically in Manufacturing Engineering (essential), together with significant industrial manufacturing experience focused on manufacturing processes, and current knowledge of modern engineering practices. You should hold GCSEs, or equivalent, in English, Mathematics and Science at Grade C/4 or above. A teaching qualification such as a PGCE, Cert Ed or Level 5 Diploma in Education and Training, together with assessor or IQA qualifications, or experience of delivering the City & Guilds 4515 Technical Certificate or Level 3 Mechatronics and Engineering Fitter standards, would be highly advantageous.
