This is a dual-role position combining Sports Coach and Classroom Support Assistant responsibilities. We are seeking energetic, patient, and proactive individuals who can use their coaching experience to promote positive behaviour, encourage engagement, and support pupils both inside and outside the classroom. The role is designed as a school-based classroom support position rather than a traditional sports coaching role. The Sports Coach / Learning Support role offers the opportunity to work alongside teachers as a Classroom Support Assistant, helping pupils remain engaged with learning while using transferable coaching skills such as communication, resilience, motivation, and behaviour management to create a positive learning environment. Sports Coach Responsibilities: • Support teachers with classroom activities and daily lesson delivery • Provide one-to-one and small-group classroom support where required • Use coaching techniques to encourage positive behaviour and pupil engagement • Assist pupils with SEN or additional learning needs where appropriate • Help supervise lessons and provide classroom cover when required • Promote a safe, inclusive, and well-structured learning environment Sports Coach Requirements: • Previous experience in sports coaching, fitness instruction, youth work, or a similar role • Confidence working with children or young people • Strong behaviour management and communication skills • Patient, adaptable, and enthusiastic approach to supporting pupils • Genuine interest in working as both a Sports Coach and Classroom Support Assistant • Enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to apply) To work with GSL Education as a Sports Coach / Learning Support, you should: • Have the right to work in the UK. • Have an up-to-date CV with two relevant references from within the last two years. • Have an enhanced DBS registered to the Update Service or be willing to apply for one through GSL Education.
