The Clare School is a warm and welcoming school, which was graded as 'Outstanding' by Ofsted at its last inspection. We are seeking to appoint enthusiastic and caring Teaching Assistants who will work with the whole range of children and young people throughout the school. Pupils at The Clare School have a wide range of learning, physical, sensory, communication and medical needs. You will assist pupils with their learning activities and support them to engage in the curriculum and classroom lessons. You will be kind and patient, enabling our pupils to achieve to their highest ability. You will provide help and support, but foster independence wherever possible. You will role model a love for learning and show enthusiasm for working with our children and young people.

We are looking for someone who:

  • Has NVQ level 2 in teaching assistant or equivalent
  • Basic understanding of child development and learning
  • Is reliable and trustworthy
  • Has an exemplary attendance record
  • Has a positive attitude with a 'can do' approach
  • Is caring and committed to the highest standards of support for our pupils

This post is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act and you will be required to undergo an Enhanced DBS check or Enhanced DBS check with barred list. If you have information to declare it may be protected under the Exceptions Orders and you may not be required to declare it. You will be asked to make a criminal conviction declaration if you are shortlisted for the post.
