Imperial Oak School is an independent specialist day school for children aged 4 to 11 with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities. All pupils have Education, Health and Care Plans and benefit from a highly individualised, nurturing and structured approach to learning.
Our ethos is centred on inclusion, dignity, safeguarding, high expectations and meaningful progress for every child. We work closely with families, local authorities and professionals to provide joined up support tailored to each pupil’s needs.
Working at Imperial Oak means being part of a committed, collaborative team where staff are encouraged to contribute ideas, develop professionally and help shape the school as it grows. We value reliability, compassion, accountability and a genuine commitment to improving outcomes for children.
We only publish school-level salary intelligence once at least 5 verified vacancies with advertised pay are available. Imperial Oak School currently has 1 on record, so no figures are shown here.
At Imperial Oak School, our ethos is built around inclusion, dignity, safeguarding, respect and high expectations for every child.
We recognise that each pupil has individual strengths, needs and ways of communicating and learning. Our approach is therefore personalised, nurturing and ambitious.
We value teamwork, accountability, consistency and professional curiosity. Staff are encouraged to work collaboratively, share ideas and contribute to a culture of continuous improvement.
Our aim is to create a safe, supportive environment where pupils can make meaningful progress academically, socially, emotionally and functionally, and where staff feel valued and able to make a genuine contribution to the development of the school.
Staff development & CPD
We are committed to supporting staff development and providing opportunities for continuous professional learning.
Staff receive induction, mandatory safeguarding training and role specific development, with additional training provided in response to pupil needs and school priorities.
Depending on the role, professional development may include SEND practice, behaviour support, safeguarding, safer recruitment, compliance, health and safety, curriculum development, leadership and school business management.
We encourage staff to identify development goals, share good practice and take part in relevant external training where appropriate.
As the school continues to grow, there are opportunities for staff to broaden their responsibilities, develop leadership skills and contribute to the development of new systems and areas of practice.
ECT support
Imperial Oak School welcomes applications from Early Career Teachers where appropriate to the vacancy.
ECTs joining the school are supported through a structured induction, regular supervision and access to professional development relevant to specialist SEND education.
Support includes opportunities to observe experienced colleagues, receive feedback on practice, develop confidence in working with pupils with additional needs and build knowledge of safeguarding, behaviour support, assessment and personalised teaching.
Where an ECT is appointed, the school will ensure that appropriate statutory induction arrangements and external support are in place in accordance with current requirements.
